Boating 2004 (updated June 7, 2004) May On May 15, we had our boat blessed during the annual blessing of the fleet, an event sponsored by the Occoquan River Maritime Association. My sister Frances joined us for the event, and for lunch afterward. Click here to read the invocation and the blessing. April Here's a picture of one of the towboats Captain Andrew operates (he's in there, but you can't see him). March Andrew and I attended our boat club's general membership meeting, and we both won prizes in this year's photo contest. Andrew won first place in the "Landscapes" category for a picture of a sunset he captured at Mattawoman Creek in November, 2003. I came in second place in the "Animals" category for a picture I took of a dog playing with a stick on what was left of a pier after Hurricane Isabel. Check out our pictures! |
